Your donations have already been put to work and children are beginning to receive treatment with the recent purchase of equipment for DTI (Diffusion Tensor Imaging) Tractography which is used for:
- Pre-operative planning for brain cancers; and,
- Differentiation of brain cancers
In 2018 St Andrew’s Foundation made an initial donation of PLN 45,000 to fund part of the cost of the equipment purchase. In discussion with Iskierka we learned that a total of PLN 162,000 was required, so with funds available following the St. Andrew’s Caledonian Charity Ball in 2018 we made a further donation of PLN 117,000 thus enabling the purchase.

TPD Helenów
In late 2017 St Andrew’s Foundation also agreed to donate a further PLN 240,000 for Helenow’s construction of a new indoor Hippotherapy Arena.
Helenów had been hoping to obtain matching funds from the Region, but their application in 2018 was unsuccessful. However, they’ve successfully reapplied for funding this year and have now launched a tender process (details can be found here) to select a contractor to carry out the construction work.
We hope that by the tender closing date of 31 May 2019 they’ll be able to quickly select a suitable contractor and push ahead with the construction shortly. We’ll keep you posted.
