Building Contract signed
We were delighted to learn that earlier this month TPD Helenów signed a building contract for the final stage of construction of their new hippotherapy arena. The new arena will enable them to deliver treatment all year round at their centre in Wawer near Warsaw.
Work is now proceeding on fabricating the steel frame for the new building with completion expected at the end of November 2019.
Hippotherapy
Hippotherapy involves an occupational therapist, a physiotherapist, or a speech and language therapist working with a client and a horse. Different movements of the horse present challenges to the client to promote different postural responses of the client by the horse influencing the client rather than the client controlling the horse. You can see hippotherapy in action at Helenów in the video below:

Funding the new Arena
St Andrew’s Foundation are contributing PLN 240,000 to the contracted cost of PLN 560,000 for the new building. We have already disbursed PLN 100,000 on building contract signature and will transfer the balance of PLN 140,000 when the steel frame is delivered to the construction site. Having earlier contributed PLN 60,000 to the cost of preparing foundations our total donation to the project is PLN 300,000.
We thank all our supporters and donors for making these donations possible and for their assistance in our mission to help ill and disadvantaged young people in Poland.
